Lou Dobbs Flattered by O'Reilly Job Offer, Reveals More CNN Details

Lou DobbsLou Dobbs appeared on the Today Show revealing more details of what he plans to do, and the final moments before his exit from CNN.  The appearance follows on from his first outing on the news circuit with Bill O'Reilly on Fox News, in what was billed as a cable news exclusive.  On the Today show, Dobbs said that he was suprised and flattered by O'Reilly's job offer to be a semi-regular contributor, and that he would be delighted to take on the role.

Dobbs said; "Absolutely, I'm thinking about it, I have immense respect for Bill O'Reilly.  He's an outstanding broadcaster."

Dobbs also revealed that he and his wife will be taking 'a lot of time' to mull over various job offers he has had from the media and also the posibility of a forray into the world of politics.  The partisan broadcaster did reveal however that his departure from CNN does not include a non-compete clause, meaning he is free to accept a post at any rival news network should he wish to do so.

In any case, he's in no rush to decide what he will do next, saying; "The first thing we're going to do is head to our house down south [florida] and do some thinking and relaxing and put some distance between us and the workaday world".  Dobbs still rates his syndicated radio show as a high priority however, saying; "Obviously, my radio talk show is extremely important to me. I love doing it. It's a very gratifying medium and outlet. I love the immediacy of radio. It can be spellbinding."

Lou Dobbs is due to appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Wednesday night.
